Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji

This post is not really about the “Thirty-six views..” but it came to mind when putting this together. As long as we’re here I should give you a better reference to the Thirty-Six. Katsushika Hokusai painted a series of landscape paintings that all looked at Mount Fuji. He was in his seventies when he painted these between 1830-1832. The The Great Wave off Kanagawa , above, is defiantly the most well known.

This post is really about the numerous pictures that I took of Wheeler Peak. It is the highest point in new Mexico and is 13,167 feet tall and a in constant view out our rental Casa’s window.
